Adelene Burman, age 89, of Marion, passed away at 8:40 a.m. Sunday, February 16, 2014, in her home.
Adelene was born on May 6, 1924, in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of the late Date and Dorothy (Grose) Zebert. She married James Maurice Burman on November 1, 1945, and he preceded her in death on March 18, 2006
Adelene was a homemaker and worked at Farnsworth, RCA and was also a cook at Van Buren Schools. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and she served faithfully in many callings throughout her life. She enjoyed gardening, canning and sewing.
Survivors include: son, Carl Wayne (Vickie) Burman of Macy, Indiana; four daughters, Janet Sue McFarren of Marion, Indiana, Barbetta Jane (John) Rickman of Marion, Indiana, Roxanna (Daniel) Evans of Cochise, Arizona, and Pamela Kay (David) Anderson of San Ramon, California; sisters, Junelda Zebert of Pearl, Mississippi and Lois Hinkle of Marion, Indiana; sister-in-law, Martha Young; brother-in-law, Jay C. Spencer; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Spencer, and brothers, Richard Zebert, Walter Young, Don Young, Dale Zebert and Tom Zebert.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1465 E. Bradford Street, Marion, Indiana with Bishop Kenneth Wilson officiating.
Burial will be in Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana, and on Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the church prior to funeral services.
