Alice Frances Taylor "Tootsie", age 73, of Marion, Indiana passed away in her home on Monday, September 21, 2015.
She was born January 23, 1942 in Nickelsville, Virginia to the late Luther Salyer and Virginia "Lil" (Burke) Salyer. She married Jay Taylor on July 11, 1992. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother and friend.
Alice retired from General Cable and Wire (formerly Anaconda) where she worked diligently for over 30 years. She loved her family, friends, her furr-babies, nature and photography.
Alice is survived by her husband of 23 years, Jay Taylor of Marion, Indiana; her mother, Virginia "Lil" Salyer of Marion, Indiana; daughter, Wilma Haley of Marion, Indiana; sons, Allen Haley (Kayrn) of Enid, Oklahoma, Nathan Salyer (Susan) of Marion, Indiana, Mark Haley (Carol) of Lubbock, Texas, Glenn Salyer (Tracy) of Peru, Indiana, George Haley of Marion, Jay Taylor, Jr. (Karen) of Fort Mill, S. Carolina, Jeremy Taylor (Rosalina) of Marion, Indiana, William Herron of Gas City, and James Herron of Marion, Indiana; 21 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and two sisters, Nora Salyer (Andy) and Velma Lovelady.
Friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Chaplain Darrell Smith officiating.
Burial will take place at noon on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
