Anita L. Small, a beloved member of the Swayzee community, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, at Wesleyan Health Care. Born on October 8, 1939, in Marion, Indiana, Anita lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to others.

Anita was known for her career as a beautician and was the proud owner of Hair Trends in Swayzee for 30 years. Her warm spirit and skilled hands created beauty for many, and she enjoyed every moment spent with her clients. In addition to her work as a beautician, she served as a receptionist and dietary aide at Emily Flinn Community Home and as a beautician and receptionist at Wesleyan Health Care, further demonstrating her commitment to caring for others.

Anita's passion extended beyond her career to her family and community. She was always her grandchildren's greatest fan at sporting events, witnessing their growth and achievements with immense pride. She played the organ at church for many years, sharing her musical talents with those around her. She was also proficient in sign language and took great joy in signing with children, teaching them to sign for the choir at Swayzee Church of The Nazarene. In her later years, she attended Grace Community Church, where her faith continued to flourish.

Anita is survived by her loving daughter, Cyndi Sandifer, and her son, Mike (Jessica) Small. She cherished her grandchildren: Kaycee Kendall (Patrick), Tiffany Randol (fiancé Josh), Tyler Small (fiancé Victoria). Furthermore, she was blessed with great-grandchildren: Tyson, Makie, Trey, Bailey (fiancé Seth), Isabelle, Emmalynn, as well as a great-great-granddaughters Tinsley and Emberleigh. Their love for her will remain a source of comfort during this difficult time.

Anita was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Dailey; her mother, Martha Dailey; her sister, Donna Hughes; and her brother, Phillip Dailey. They will be remembered alongside her, as they shared in her journey through life.

A graveside service will take place on January 28, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor her memory and celebrate the wonderful life that Anita led.
