Anna Lee Tharp

January 26, 1933 — March 19, 2016

Anna was born January 26, 1933 in Marion, Indiana to the late Harold W. and C. Rheba (Hale) Price. She married Charles Tharp on September 29, 1950, and he preceded her in death on October 15, 1989.

Anna was homemaker and the last charter member of the Marion Church of Christ. She was an avid pianist, playing at the church for 57 years. She also enjoyed playing for different groups at the church including the children and adult choirs.

Anna is survived by four daughters, Rheba (Robert) Nall of Swayzee, Shiela Tinkel of Plymouth, Indiana, Sally (Thomas) Butts of Newport, Tennessee and Rebecca Bell of Marion; daughter-in-law, Marla Tharp-Porter of Haskins, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, Andrew (KC) Brock, Robert (Rebecca) Nall, Trevis Nall, Charles (Carrie) Tharp, Scott Tinkel, Kim Shultz, Marlanna (Russell) Swanson, Melinda (Shaun) Wilzbacher, Rikki (Scott) Jeremy, Amanda Bell, Brooks (Ellie) Bell and Jamie Bell; 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Anna was also preceded in death by a son, Richard E. Tharp; brother, John W. Price; sister, Thelma M. Dooley, son in law, Roger W. Tinkel, great-grandson, Cody Shultz, and a great-great granddaughter, Karson Still.

Calling hours will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Monday April 4, 2016, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. A memorial service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home followed by entombment at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County, Indiana.
