Athanasia (Papandreou) Michos

June 15, 1914 — January 28, 2015

Athanasia "Sia" Michos, age 100, formerly of Marion, went to meet her Lord and beloved husband, Nick on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Manor Care Health Services, Avon, Indiana.

Athanasia was born June 15, 1914, in Kalion Doridos, Greece, the daughter of the late Themestakles and Zoeta (Chetourous) Papandreou. She came to the United States in 1930. She married Nick Michos, and he preceded her in death on August 7, 1961 after thirty years of marriage. She and her husband were the owners of Nick's Chili Bowl at Coney Island. She retired in 1964.

Athanasia was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Indianapolis and a former member of the Daughters of Penelope. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining friends and family, embroidery and crocheting.

Survivors include: daughters, Zoe Smith of Marion, Indiana, and Mary Bennett of Newburg, Indiana; and grandchildren, Jay (Jacki) Smith of Indianapolis, Indiana, Chad (Julie) Bennett of Newburg, Indiana, Lisa George of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Nikki Presley of Evansville, Indiana; 7 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February2, 2015, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.

Burial will follow funeral services in Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana.

Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2015 in the funeral home prior to funeral services.
