AVIS G. EDINGTON, age 79, of Marion, died at 5:00 a.m. Sunday, August 17, 2008, at Marion General Hospital, Marion.
AVIS was born on December 27, 1928, in Montpelier, Indiana, the daughter of the late Vernie and Earl Brown. She married Frank Edington on November 21, 1949. He survives.
She had worked at General Tire, KMart Jewelry Department, Indiana Contact Lens Lab & retired from Marion Community Schools. She also volunteered at Marion General Hospital crocheting caps for newborns.
Survivors include Husband, Frank Edington of Marion, Indiana; Daughter, Diana Ireland (Art) of Sweetser, Indiana; Sons, Darrell & Del Edington, both of Marion, Indiana; Grandchildren, Eli Ireland (Holly) of Kokomo, Indiana; Seth Ireland (Heather) of Indianapolis, Indiana; Lacie Edington (Nick Turner) of Gas City, Indiana; and Emily Edington (Aaron Bohde) of Marion, Indiana; Great-Grandchildren, Liam & Brody Ireland of Kokomo, Indiana; Aidan & Claire Ireland of Indianapolis, Indiana and Layla Bohde of Marion, Indiana; Sister, Pansy Ickes of Hartford City, Indiana and Special Dear Friend, Diane Hyman.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Dee Edington and Brothers, Hoyt & Wendell Brown.
Avis will be cremated with arrangements being handled by Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. There will be no visitation or services.
