Barbara Ann (Sinclair) Sharp, age 95, passed away in Fort Wayne on Thursday, May 5, surrounded by her family. She lived in Marion for 91 years before moving to the Towne House Retirement Community in Fort Wayne in 2012.
Barbara graduated from Marion High School in 1939. In 1946, she married Harold Sharp, who died in 1968.
Barbara worked for Indiana Bell Telephone Company for 33 years and retired in 1983. She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church and the American Legion (Van Buren), a life member of the AT&T Pioneers, and a member of the Marion branch of the American Business Women's Association. Following a heart attack in 1988, she volunteered at Marion General Hospital, where she also served on the auxiliary board.
She is survived by her daughter LeeAnn of Fort Wayne; her son Greg of Tucson, AZ; and her granddaughter Elizabeth, her husband Ward and two great grandchildren of Madison, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents Orla H. and Mae (Farr) Sinclair and her sister, Lt. Col. Margaret Sinclair.
A memorial service will be held in Marion at the Garden House in Matter Park at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2016.
