Barbara Kathleen Wilson, age 69, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011, in her home.
Barbara was born on March 9, 1942, in Mason City, Iowa, to the late Doyle and Charlotte (Pearson) Reynolds. She married Larry Wilson on August 17, 1963, in Peoria, Illinois, and he survives.
Barbara was a 1964 graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in Elementary Education. While there, she was active in the Kappa Delta Sorority, Women's Glee Club, and Angel Flight. She also had an associate degree in accounting from Indiana Wesleyan University. The Wilsons moved to Marion in 1984. Barbara worked at several accounting offices and was active in the Research Club, Tri Kappa Sorority, PEO, several bridge groups, the Marion Philharmonic Orchestra Board, and St. James Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Larry Wilson of Marion, Indiana; children, Jennifer Wilson Coats of Hopkins, Minnesota, Michael (Rebecca Sun) Wilson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Sarah (Joseph) Vaile of Ashland, Oregon; brothers, Timothy (Patty Isaeff) Reynolds of Rigby, Idaho, and Mark (Gretchen LeBuhn) Reynolds of Corte Madera, California; brother-in-law, Chuck (Lynn) Wilson of Springfield, Illinois. Also surviving are beloved grandchildren, Carly Coats, Casidy Coats, Theodore Wilson, Irena Wilson, Solveig Wilson, and Jackson Vaile; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday, November 25, 2011, at St. James Lutheran Church, 1206 N. Miller Avenue, Marion, Indiana, with the Reverend Randall L. Glander officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday at the church prior to services.
There will be an interment with memorial service, at a later date, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, Illinois.
Memorial contributions may be made, in lieu of flowers, to St. James Lutheran Church, 1206 N. Miller Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46952; or the Marion Public Library, 600 S. Washington Street, Marion, Indiana 46953.
