Barbetta Jane Rickman, age 68, of Marion, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Barbetta was born July 26, 1949 in Marion, Indiana to the late James and Hildreth (Zebert) Burman. She was a 1967 graduate of Eastbrook High School. She then married John S. Rickman on August 29, 1967, and he survives.
Barbetta worked at Thompson Consumer Electronics until her retirement and was also a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Marion and the Relief Society. She loved to garden and was an avid reader. Barbetta loved spending time with her family and enjoyed doing embroidery when she was able. She was also a genealogy buff.
Barbetta is survived by her husband, John Rickman of Marion; two sons, Myron Jay Rickman of New Castle and Scott David (Angie) Rickman of Cicero; brother, Carl Wayne (Vicki) Burman of Macy; three sisters, Janet Sue McFarren of Marion, Roxanna (Daniel) Evans of Cochise, Arizona and Pamela Kay (David) Anderson of San Ramon, California; 6 grandchildren, Kayla, Kaleb, Brad, Tyler, Alyssa & Sierra; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends and family may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
Visitation will also take place from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1465 E. Bradford Street, Marion, Indiana. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Roger Ertel officiating.
Burial will take place in Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana.
