Betty J. Bragg

Betty J. Bragg, age 88, passed away at 2:12 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2013, in her Marion home.

Betty was born on June 9, 1925, in Huntington, Indiana, the daughter of the late Tim and Bertha (Lee) Satterthwaite. She married Merritt R. Bragg on December 17, 1944 and he preceded her in death on June 14, 2012.

Betty was a homemaker and also worked at Marion Community Schools and Long's Cleaners. Betty was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include: three sons, Richard (Patty) Bragg, Dr. Jeff (Cristin) Bragg and James (Jamie) Bragg, all of Marion, Indiana; two daughters, Cheryl Compton of Lebanon, Indiana and Rebecca "Becky" (Neil) Wolfgang of Marion, Indiana; brother, Bruce Satterthwaite of Florida; ; 14 grandchildren, Adam (Michele) Bragg, Amanda Bragg, Jacob (Jamee) Bragg, Caitlin Bragg, Caleb Bragg, Jarrett Bragg, Jordan (Kassie) Bragg, Joel Bragg, Laura (Jeff) Harrell, Dr. Jeremy (Nicole) Wilson, Michael Wilson, Craig (Annette) Wolfgang, Aaron (Jill) Wolfgang, and Angie (John) Daly; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Satterthwaite and his wife Bonnie; sisters, Ruth Bare and her husband, Walt and Ruby Chapman and her husband, Wilbur; and sister-in-law, Margaret Satterthwaite.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Reverend Tom Mansbarger officiating.

Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.

Friends may call from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
