Betty J. Butler, born on August 4, 1925, in Marion, Indiana, passed away peacefully in Indianapolis, Indiana, on March 13, 2025. She was a cherished individual whose spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Betty's life was marked by love and commitment, particularly in her marriage to Robert T. "Bob" Butler, which began on May 25, 1944. Their bond was a testament to enduring love, as they enjoyed seventy-five wonderful years together.
Throughout her life, Betty was active in her community and church, where she was a member of the First Christian Church in Marion. Her dedication to her faith and active participation in church activities reflected her generous spirit and strong values. She was also a proud member of the American Businesswomen's Association, showcasing her passion for professional development.
Betty is remembered fondly by her living family members: her son Thomas Lee (Susan) Butler, her daughter Rebecca Ann (Richard) Johnston, along with four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who brought her tremendous joy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dwight L. Eltzroth; her mother, Lenora A. Medlen; her beloved husband, Robert T. Butler; and her brothers, Gene and Robert Eltzroth.
Betty J. Butler's memorial service will be held on March 25, 2025, at the Second Reformed Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis, beginning at 1:00 PM and concluding at 2:00 PM. Following this, a visitation will take place at the Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home in Marion from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on March 26, 2025.
Betty's legacy of love, service, and community engagement will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know her.
