BETTY C. DOBBS, age 78, of Marion died at 10:15 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2009, at home.
BETTY was born December 11, 1930, in Osaka, Virginia, the daughter of the late Brownlow and Clemmie (Richards) Collins. She married Clarence Dobbs July 27, 1946. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2009.
She was a machine operator at General Tire and a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and children.
Survivors include: three sons, Clarence "Allen" Dobbs (Susan), Terry Michael Dobbs (Rene) and Jim Ray Dobbs (Theatta), all of Marion, Indiana; brother, Sonny Collins (Betty) of Tennessee; two sisters, Sissy Glass of S. Carolina and Shirley Rose of Marion, Indiana; grandchildren, Heather Dobbs, Jamie Dobbs, Channa Turrin (Brent), Christie Owens (Darby) and Stephanie Dailey (Ryan); 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Brownlow Collins & Scotty Collins; and two sisters, Margaret Munsey & Blanche Hoover.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Reverend Tom Mansbarger officiating.
Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 24 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
