Betty Jean Hobson

Betty Jean Hobson, age 88, of Marion passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at the IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, Indiana.

Betty was born January 29, 1932 in Rushville, Indiana to the late Artie and Cora (Fields) Basey.  She worked as a school guard for Marion Community Schools for 20 years.

She is survived by two sons, Everett (Carlotta) Hobson of Upland and Stoney Hobson of Wabash; a daughter, Opal (Robert) Burritt of Holiday, Florida; a brother, James Basey of Florida; 12 grandchildren , 17 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lela Hobson and a sister, Lucy Martin.

There will be a private visitation for family followed by cremation.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
