Betty J. Patterson, age 87, of Marion, passed away Friday, February 10, 2012, at Marion General Hospital, Marion, Indiana.
Betty was born October 16, 1924, in LaFontaine, Indiana to Thomas and Elizabeth (Bricker) Marks, and they preceded her in death. She married Max Patterson on July 2, 1949, and he also precedes her in death.
Betty worked for Indiana Bell Telephone for many years until she retired in 1981. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was involved in the Marion General Hospital Auxiliary, Hostess House, Marion Women's Department Club, and past president of Riverview PTA.
Survivors include: sons, Tony (Janet) Patterson of Carmel, Indiana, Kevin (Kathy) Patterson of Noblesville, Indiana; step-son, Michael (Vanessa) Patterson of Indianapolis, Indiana, and grandchildren Heather Patterson-Smith (Nick), Joe (Megan) Massa, and Jennifer Massa-Lyons (Alex).
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Tom Marks, and sister, Evelyn Williams.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday February 14, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana with Pastor Tom Ream officiating.
Burial will at LaFontaine I.O.O.F. Cemetery, LaFontaine, Indiana.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until services at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday February 14, 2012, prior to the service in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Marion-Grant County Humane Society, 505 S. Miller Ave. Marion, Indiana 46953.
