Betty J. Tharp, age 85, of Marion, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015, at Marion Rehab, Marion, Indiana.
Betty was born October 13, 1929, in Matthews, Indiana, the daughter of the late Filmore Foist and Marguerite (Nelson) King. She married Ronald Petre on August 6, 1998, and he survives.
Betty was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Bradner Nursing Home and in home nursing.
Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the Healing Heart Church in Marion. She also enjoyed going out to eat, traveling and going to church.
Survivors include: husband, Ronald Petre of Marion, Indiana; son, Mike (Joyce) Oyler of Marion, Indiana, 2 daughters, Kim Oyler Gause of Myrtle Beach, S. Carolina, and Kelly (Randall) Fenwick of Marion, Indiana; 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by daughters, Teresa Oyler Fansler, and Diana Oyler Greer.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2014, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana with Reverend Tom Mansbarger officiating.
Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana following funeral services.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2015 prior to funeral services.
