Betty Jane Thomas, age 74, of Marion, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Betty was born on February 10, 1937, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late Edward and Mildred (Valentine) Baker. She married French K. Thomas on February 10, 1957, and he survives. She worked at Thompson Consumer Electronics (RCA) for 28 years before retiring in 1995. Betty loved to shop, and was a huge "History Buff", always reading up on something about History.
Survivors include: husband, French K. Thomas of Marion, Indiana; two sons, French Edward Thomas of Grove City, Ohio, and Ronald Clark Thomas (Susan) of Marion, Indiana; two sisters, Madge Baker, and Mary Lou Brewer, both of Lockville, Ohio; two brothers-in-law, William "Bill" Thomas of Ashland, Kentucky, and Charles S. Thomas of Marion, Indiana; grandson, Tyler Noble Thomas; several nieces and nephews, and special friend, Nancy Smith.
Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 31 and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 1, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Graveside Services will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
