Blanche Winstead Reid

BLANCHE W. REID, age 85, died January 4, 2009 in Franklin, N. Carolina. She had moved to Franklin in 2006 to be near her children. She lived most of her life in Grant County, Indiana. Mrs. Reid was born in Greensboro, North Carolina. She earned her B.A. degree from John Brown University, Arkansas. After 32 wonderful years of marriage, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles H. Reid in December 1981. She was a homemaker and member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, Marion, Indiana.
Survivors include daughter, Helen Jones and son, Richard R. Reid and his wife, Marcia, all of Franklin, N. Carolina; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2009, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Pastor Raymond Kughen officiating. Visitation will be one-half hour prior to services. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
