Bruce E. Brandle, age 59, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Bruce was born September 26, 1951, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Walter G. Brandle and Bernadette (Gallagher) Brandle-Leaming. His mother survives.

Bruce earned his Bachelor's Degree at Ball State University and his Master's Degree at Indiana University. He then was a Science Teacher for 18 years at Marion High School, until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of the Central Indiana Bluegrass Association; the Audubon Society; was President of the Marion Teacher's Association for 3 terms; and was a supporter of the Asherwood Association. He was proud of his music and was in several bands. Bruce also traveled to 48 states and five continents. He was an avid Astronomer and was Planetarium Director at Marion High School. Bruce enjoyed tennis, and was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts and roller coasters.

Survivors include: his wife of 13 years, Natasha of Marion, Indiana, originally of Russia; mother, Bernadette Brandle-Leaming of Marion, Indiana; son, Kyle Brandle of Orlando, Florida; daughter, Michelle Brandle of Lima, Ohio; brother, Walter T. Brandle of LaFontaine, Indiana; sister, Barbara Pegg of LaFontaine, Indiana; mother-in-law, Lidia Kharisova of Russia; exchange student, Rika (Kazuo) Takahashi; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, & cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter G. Brandle, and several aunts and uncles.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Father Gene Schroeder officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held at Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana following funeral services.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
