Burlie Higginbotham, Sr., age 93 of Marion, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 in his home surrounded by his family.
Burlie was born on August 13, 1927 in Charleston, West Virginia the son of the late Henrey and Lucinda (Castle) Higginbotham. He was a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served his Country.
He married Grace Hile on October 24, 1953, and she survives. He was a machine operator at Dana Corporation until his retirement. He enjoyed traveling, going camping with his wife and family and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Higginbotham of Marion; a daughter, Marilyn Burns of Marion; a sister, Violete Easter of Marion; grandchildren, Burlie Higginbotham III of Sweetser, Maranda Higginbotham of Marion, Larry Burns, Jr. of Marion, Richard Burns of Marion and Todd Burns of Marion; and several great-grandchildren.
Friends and family may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Chaplain Darrell Smith officiating.
Due to the Governor’s continued COVID-19 restrictions, masks will be required at the funeral home and social distancing is suggested.
Burial will immediately follow funeral services in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
