Burton James Hollabaugh, age 76 of Marion passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Marion General Hospital.
Burton was born on November 17, 1944 in Titusville, Pennsylvania the son of the late Burton and Elizabeth (Powers) Hollabaugh. He married Aurora Butardo on July 28, 1979 and she survives.
He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where he majored in Electronics Engineering. Burton loved math and teaching his daughter and grandchildren math tips and tricks. He was a History buff who loved reading and watching the History Channel, and enjoyed visiting battlefields and historical sites. He worked as an Electrical Engineer at Zenith and Wells Gardner in Chicago. He then moved his family to Marion where he worked at Thomson until its closing. Burton was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 10 in Marion.
He is survived by his wife, Aurora Hollabaugh of Marion; two daughters, Pamela May Hollabaugh of Valdosta, Georgia and Christine (Cody) Sharp of Fishers; a sister, Patricia Ann Thompson of Meadville, Pennsylvania; and three grandchildren, Adelaide, Sullivan and Cecilia.
He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Edward Thompson, and a nephew, Edward Thompson.
Friends and family may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1009 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Father Ted Rothrock officiating.
Private graveside services and burial with military honors will be held at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
Arrangements are entrusted to Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
