Charles C. "Charlie" Baird

Charles C. "Charlie" Baird, age 52, of Marion, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at the VA Northern Health Care System in Marion.
Charlie was born on December 3, 1958, in Marion, Indiana, the son of Glenn Baird and Leslie Deason.
He worked at Active Products where he was a Union Steward. He was also a U.S. Army veteran. Charlie was an avid Colts, Pacers, and NASCAR fan. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and also attended Grace Community Church. Charlie will be missed by his many friends and his dog, "Luke".
Survivors include: mother, Leslie Deason (Isaac); father, Glenn Baird (Joan); brother, William Baird (Shari); two sisters, Barbara Hannah and Jennifer Collins (Bill Wright); step-brothers, Duaine Deason, Rick George (Tina), and John George (Christina); step-sisters, Dawn Deason, Valerie Babbitt, Shari Justice, and Nita Terhune (Eddie); nieces, Lesley Clements (Mike), Lucy Roe, Amy McClain, Meghan McClain, and Emily Wright; and life-long friends, Eddie Hawkins, Dick Herring and Kirk Purvis.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, a sister, Rebecca McClain and nephew, Scotty.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana with Reverend Tom Mansbarger officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
