Charles F. "Chuck" Hussong, age 87, of Marion, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 in Miller's Merry Manor, Marion, Indiana in the presence of his loving wife and family.
Chuck was born on February 8, 1929, in Marion, Indiana, the son of the late Joseph and Montie (Snyder) Hussong. He married Betty L. Nelson on July 26, 1952 and she survives.
Chuck graduated from Lincolnville High School in 1947, where he played basketball and softball during his high school years. He served his country during the Korean Conflict 1951-1953 in the Army Signal Corp Division. He was a member of the First Friends Church and the Golden Band Sunday School Class. He served as clerk on several committees within the church. His most joyable time was as a greeter, welcoming friends and children to worship. Chuck enjoyed visiting with friends and family, playing and working on his model trains, bowling and traveling.
Chuck owned a trucking company from 1953-1970, working for Pipe Creek Stone Company and Marion Paving. He worked in Home Maintenance and Mill Creek Stone as a Sales Representative. He retired in 2004, from Marion Community Rehab as a Construction Supervisor in restoring homes in Central Marion.
In addition to his wife, Chuck is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Belinda) Hussong of Marion, Gary (Connie) Hussong of Jonesboro and Brian (Karen) Hussong of Marion; sister, Alwilda Hoos of Peru; 7 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2016 at First Friends Church, 2211 Wabash Road, Marion, Indiana with Pastor Jeff Nagell officiating.
Burial will immediately follow funeral services in Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 at First Friends Church and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2016 in the church prior to the funeral service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Friends Church, 2211 Wabash Road, Marion, Indiana 46952.
