Charles T. Mcilwain

Charles T. McIlwain, age 89, of Marion, passed away Friday morning, November 11, 2016 in his home.

Charles was born on May 6, 1927 in Marion, Indiana to the late Merrill and Marion (Thatcher) McIlwain.  He was a 1945 graduate of Sweetser High School.  He married Janet Patterson on April 23, 1978, and she survives.

He worked one year for Reith-Riley and retired from farming and Harper Implement.  He enjoyed collecting John Deere tractors, and John Deere related items, and Letz feed grinders.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; two sons, Ronald (Marge) McIlwain of Rensselaer, and Jeff (Rita) McIlwain of Marion; two daughters, Susan (Robin) Presson of Zionsville and Lisa (John) Prokopek of Norwalk, Connecticut; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2016 in Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.

Burial will immediately follow funeral services in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, LaFontaine, Indiana.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 in the funeral home.
