CHARLES EDWARD SHEPLER, age 82, of Marion, died at 9:05 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2010, in Marion General Hospital, Marion.
Charles was born on August 16, 1927, in Warsaw, Indiana, the son of the late Harold Eugene and Edith (Vanator) Shepler. He married Rosemary West on February 6, 1949. She survives.
He was a Navy veteran serving during WWII. Charles was a printer at the Chronicle Tribune and also owned C & S Rubber Stamps for many years. He was a member of the American Legion and the YMCA, where he was also a past member of its Board of Directors.
Survivors include, wife, Rosemary Shepler, four sons, Stephen Shepler, Stewart Shepler (Katy), Scott Shepler (Debi) and Spencer Shepler (Erin); daughter, Sandra Cooper (David); sister, Ruth Irene Brown; grandchildren, Stewart Shepler, Sarah Shepler, Jennifer Renee Sexton (Brad), Aaron Noel Shepler (Kat), Ashlae Dawn Shepler, Heather Niccole Winger (James), Zachary Edward Shepler and Abigail Rosalyn Shepler; and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Vernon Shepler, Howard Arthur Shepler and Floyd Eugene Shepler; and three sisters, Mary Jane Shepler, Bertha Mae Boyle and Lois Almira Carlon.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with the Reverend Tom Mansbarger officiating.
Entombment will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana.
