Cheryl K. (Diskey) Bailey

Cheryl K. Bailey, age78, passed away Tuesday May 7, 2024, at Compassus Hospice Care in Indianapolis after suffering from a stroke. She was born on October 18, 1945, in Muncie to John and Blanche Diskey. She met her companion, Phillip D. Rodgers 44 years ago and he survives in Marion.

Cheryl attended Bennett High School. She loved to make crafts and handmade goods, and once owned R&B Crafts in Marion. She loved to set up shop at area festivals for many, many years. Her favorite being Ducktail Run every September. Cheryl was one who never met a stranger. She enjoyed watching NASCAR races. She also loved watching WWE events, her favorite wrestler being Charlotte Flair. Can we get a “WOOOOOO!” so loud that she can hear it up in heaven? She had a standing date at 1 PM every Monday through Friday with Phillip, watching her beloved Days of Our Lives. We knew to never call during that one hour. She also loved her “Boys in Blue”. She loved making her famous “Christmas Goodies” every Christmas. She made the best peanut butter balls and at times would proudly tell you just that! Chery also loved anything that had to do with HGTV.

In addition to her companion, Phillip, she is survived by her sons: Timothy Bailey, Raymond “Skip” Bailey (Melissa), John Bailey, and Jay Rodgers. Her daughters: Francie Buckler and her husband Tim, who was Cheryl’s favorite son-in-law, Janera (Brad) Liggett, and Yolande Bailey (Eryn), many grandchildren, granddaughters: Melissa Bailey, Michelle Weaver, Holly Taylor, Lisa (Austin) Sellers, Brooke Saylor, Paige Liggett, and Danielle Rodgers, her grandson’s: Timothy (Billie Jo) Bailey Jr., Andrew (Allison) Bailey, Austin Bailey, Clayton Bailey, Trevor Bailey, John Bailey, Seth (Kaylani) Trotter, Jack Leggett and Nathan Bailey, great grandchildren: Tristan, Brianna, Lincoln, Ti, Ella ,Trenton, Kehlana, Skylar (Talia), Lucas, Ben, Eli, Travis, Haylen, Hunter, Myah, Karson, Zoey, Theseus, Abby, Sawyer, Everly (Ellie May), Adisyn, and Kahleah, great great grandchildren: Aurya, Rhyse, and Casey Ray. Also surviving are her lifelong best friends, Mary, Pat, and Kay.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, one stepdaughter, two grandchildren and her buddy Frank the Pug, we know he met her with his tail wagging.

Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday May 14, 2024, from 3:00 to7:00 PM at Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home, 1202 W Kem Rd., Marion. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday May 15, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1301 W. Kem Rd., Marion at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior to Mass.
