DARRELL C. EDINGTON, age 56, died at 1:32 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at Marion General Hospital, Marion.
DARRELL was born December 31, 1951 in Blackford County Hospital, the son of Frank Edington and the late Avis Edington. He married Carol Thurman in 1981. She preceded him in death in December 1986.
He served in the U.S. Army. During that time, he served one tour of duty in Vietnam as a helicopter gunner. He was employed by the VA Hospital until being permanently disabled in a car accident.
Survivors include: Daughters, Lacie Edington (Nick Turner) and Emily Edington (Aaron Bohde); Granddaughter, Layla Bohde; Father, Frank Edington; Brother, Del Edington; Sister, Diana Ireland (Art); Father-In-Law, Alfred Thurman; Sister-In-Law, Linda Hull; Brothers-In-Law, Bruce Thurman (Tracy), Mike Thurman (Tori), Randy Thurman (Sheila) and Ronnie Thurman (Cathy) and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, mother, Avis Edington, brother, Dee Edington and mother-in-law, Doris Thurman.
Darrell will be cremated with arrangements handled by Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Friends may call from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorial Services will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend Blake Neff officiating.
