David W. Diskey

David W. Diskey, a devoted family man and esteemed member of the Marion, Indiana community, passed away on February 20, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born on June 22, 1953, in Marion, David spent his life contributing to both his profession and his family. He dedicated forty-four years of hard work as a forklift operator, retiring from Hartson-Kennedy, where he was respected and well-liked by his colleagues.

David's life was characterized by his deep love for his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of forty-seven years, Patricia A. Diskey, who stood by him throughout their journey together. His legacy continues through his three children: daughter Cindi (Larry) Steely and daughter Tena M. Keys, as well as son Keith (Shelli) Goodpaster. David was not only a proud father but also a cherished grandfather to fifteen grandchildren, a loving great-grandfather to eighteen great-grandchildren, and a delighted great-great-grandfather to one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his family ties, David had various interests that colored his life. He loved spending time outdoors, finding joy in hunting and fishing. His passion for NASCAR was evident, particularly as he rooted for his favorite driver, Mark Martin. These pursuits spoke to his adventurous spirit and love for life’s simple pleasures.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Diskey and Mary Diskey, as well as several siblings: Cliff, Charlie, Ken, Jr., Robert, and John Diskey, alongside sisters Anna Adamson and Mary Diskey.

Family, friends, and the community now remember David for his unwavering dedication to his loved ones and his engaging personality that brought joy to those around him.

Visitation will be held on February 26, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at the Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home, located at 1202 West Kem Road, Marion, Indiana, 46952.
