Dennis E. Parker, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, departed this world on February 1, 2025, surrounded by the warmth of his loving family, Dennis's passage from this life was as serene as the laughter he so joyfully sprinkled throughout his days.
For over twenty-five years, Dennis was a dedicated body man at Excel Auto Body, bringing an artistic touch to his work that transformed metal and machines into something extraordinary. Earlier in his career, he took pride in rebuilding and repairing transformers for American Electric Power (AEP), showcasing his exceptional craftsmanship and commitment to excellence for two decades before retiring. These years of service reflected not just a job, but a passion for creating and mending that resonated through his existence.
Beyond the realm of work, Dennis was a spirited soul brimming with mischief and humor. Known affectionately among friends and family as a prankster, his infectious laughter left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He could lighten the heaviest of hearts, weaving joy and mischief into the very fabric of family gatherings and friendships.
Dennis devoted a piece of his heart to his cherished Rat Rod, a masterpiece he crafted from the ground up—a notable testament to his abilities and tenacity. He delighted in showcasing this pride and love at the Duck Tail Run, sharing tales of the road and his passion for automobiles with fellow enthusiasts in the 9th Street Gang car club.
When he wasn’t busy behind the wheel, Dennis cherished moments spent fishing and hunting, especially his treasured trips to the Boundary Waters where he was known as "Ramrod" with Steve, Brandon, Jake and friends—adventures filled with camaraderie and the serenity of nature. An ardent fan of NASCAR, he enthusiastically rooted for his favorite driver, Tony Stewart, embodying the spirit of competition and excitement that the sport represents.
Dennis leaves behind a loving family—his devoted wife, Karen Parker; his cherished daughter, Andrea Parker; his son, Steven (Kim) Parker; and his grandsons, Brandon (Sydney Wise) Parker and Jacob (Macie Willhite) Parker. He is further survived by his sister Suzanne Moore and his brother David (Jill) Parker, who will carry his spirit in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Parker, and mother, Glenna (Helm) Parker, both of whom he revered and whose legacies he honored in the way he lived his life.
