Doris E. Clem, age 84, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Doris was born May 17, 1929, in Athens, Alabama, the son of the late Claude and Hasmer (Wales) Clem. He married Helen Phelps, and she survives. He was a press operator at General Motors until his retirement.
Doris was a member of the Northeast Church of God and the Eagles. He was a past member of the Moose, and the U.A.W. Sympathy Club. He loved to hike, fish, hunt and visit with his kids and grandchildren. He was a devoted father and loved his wife and dogs, Sophie, Cassie and Marie.
Survivors include: wife, Helen Clem of Marion, Indiana; sons, Larry (Jamie) Clem of Clearwater, Florida, Roy Allen (Linda) Clem of Anderson, Indiana, Mark (Diane Linthicum) Clem of Greentown, Indiana, Claude D. (Cathy) Clem of Marion, Indiana, Gary (Michelle) Clem of Fairmount, Indiana; daughters, Hasmer "Jody" (Michael) Garcia of Marion, Indiana, and Lisa Michele Clem of Marion, Indiana; son-in-law, James Ailstock of Virginia; step-son, John Bishir of Tennessee; step-daughter, Lorie Ann Bishir of Tennessee; 35 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Diane Ailstock and brothers, Bill Lee Clem and Roy Brown Clem.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana, with Chaplain Darrel Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana
Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 28, in the funeral home.
