Dorothea Mae Harmon

Dorothea Mae Harmon, age 95, of Marion, passed away at 2:35 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010, at home following a long illness.
Dorothea was born on April 5, 1915, in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of the late Myron and Margarette (Schultz) Anderson. Mrs. Harmon graduated from Marion High School and was married to F. Dawson Harmon who preceded her in death on March 4, 1995.
Mrs. Harmon retired from Foster Forbes where she was an accountant. She loved music, played the piano, composed songs of her own, and also accompanied her husband, who was a violinist. Besides her music talents, she enjoyed latch work, keeping a daily journal and loved animals. She and her husband were both members of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Farrolyn (Morris) Lanigan, Carmichael, California; and Margarette (John) Rose, Amboy, Indiana; son, Myron "Bud" (Jo Anne) Harmon, Kokomo, Indiana; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Cazzell, Indianapolis, Indiana; several nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, Paul (Mary) Harmon.
Mrs. Harmon was also preceded in death by a brother, M. Dale Anderson.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m.Thursday, December 9, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Helm officiating.
Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., prior to the services at the funeral home.
