Dorothy H. Custer, age 92, passed away at 1:00 a.m. Sunday, October 25, 2009, at Miller's Merry Manor, Marion surrounded by her family.
Dorothy was born on January 17, 1917, in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of the late William and Cora (Thomas) Boyer. She married Herbert Custer August 25, 1934. He preceded her in death on August 17, 1990. Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church. Her family was her life. The last two years, her family extended to include the staff and residents of Miller's Merry Manor.
Survivors include: three daughters, Sue Claxton (John) of Peru, Indiana; Judy Drook of Marion, Indiana; and Connie Eads (Robert) of Marion, Indiana; four grandchildren, Brad Drook, Debbie Allen (Jeff), Kim Anderson (Greg) and Kelly Anderson (J.P.); five great-grandchildren, Jami, Austin, Alex & Cortney Anderson and Nathan Drook.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jeff Stephenson and son-in-law, Norman Drook.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until services Wednesday at Raven-Choate Funeral Home,1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
