Elizabeth Ann Rains, age 57, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital, Carmel, Indiana.
Elizabeth was born on February 17, 1956, in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of the late Frederick and Josephine (Velasquez) Knight. She married Steven Rains on June 19, 1977, and he survives.
Elizabeth was a tax preparer for H & R Block. She attended St. Paul Catholic Church in Marion. She valued friendship and family and loved her dog, "Dolly".
Survivors include: her husband of 36 years, Steven Rains of Marion, Indiana; two daughters, Sarah Raquelle Mabbett (Jonathan) of Raleigh, N. Carolina, and Emilie Abigail Moore (Paul) of Noblesville, Indiana; four brothers, Clifton Knight (Laurie), Gary Knight (Lynn), Vincent Knight (Lisa), and Steve Knight (Susan), all of Marion, Indiana; three sisters, Carolyn Smith (Richard) of Marion, Indiana, Patricia Peterson (Bruce) of Converse, Indiana, and Cynthia Patton (Ed) of Rochester, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Aleigha Moore, Rhys Mabbett and Bethan Mabbett, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by her special nephew, Afghanistan Veteran Sergeant First Class Colin J. Bowen.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana with Reverend Ben Gray officiating.
Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 31 in the funeral home prior to funeral services.
