Eston Steven Phillips, age 65, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014, in his Marion home.
Eston was born November 18, 1949, in Madison County, Florida, the son of the late Robert and Ollie (Holland) Phillips. He married Darlene Ludington on June 28, 1974, and she survives.
Eston served in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict and received two Purple Hearts. He worked as a general foreman for the Indiana State Highway Department.
Eston loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include: wife, Darlene Phillips of Marion, Indiana; daughter, Angela (David) Clark of Elwood, Indiana; 4 brothers, Robert Phillips of Florida, Terry Phillips of Florida, and Wilmer Joseph Phillips of N. Carolina, and Austin Stanley (Daphine) Phillips of Florida; and four grandchildren, Thomas Wesley Waggoner, Jr., Emili Rose Waggoner, Collene Liliana Waggoner, and Holli Denise Waggoner.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Grady Orien Phillips; and sister, Louise Rogers.
There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana with Angela Clark officiating.
