Everett E. Eckert

Everett E. Eckert, age 91, of Sweetser passed away on November 29, 2019 in Marion General Hospital.

Everett was born October 4, 1928 in Marion, Indiana the son of the late Cleo and Hazel (Etchison) Eckert.  He graduated from the Indiana Soldiers & Sailors Children’s Home in Knightstown, Indiana.  He then served in the U.S. Army.  Everett married Barbara Collins on May 12, 1955, and she survives.  Everett was a printer and worked for the Chronicle Tribune and later retired from Bainbridge Printing Company in Marion.

He enjoyed playing basketball and baseball, and traveling with his wife Barbara.  He especially loved going to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, taking his family to Punta Gorda, Florida and to Disney World in Orlando.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Eckert of Sweetser; a son, Randy (Margaret) Eckert of Ireland; a daughter, Robin (William) Leech of Marion; and three grandchildren, Kyle Leech, Kortney Leech and Byron Eckert.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and James Eckert.

Friends and family may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Burial will take place immediately following the visitation in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
