Garnet Lucille Clark

August 6, 1915 — March 5, 2011

Garnet Lucille Clark, age 95, a fomer resident of Sweetser, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011, at the Bayside Convalescent Center in Poquoson, Virginia.

She was born August 6, 1915, in Blackford County, Indiana. She worked as a cook for the Sweetser Elementary School for 9 years, until her retirement in 1976. Garnet was a member of the Sweetser United Methodist Church and the Senior Citizen Craft and Hobby Club. She loved to cook and was best known for her chicken & noodles.

Survivors include: son, Ron (Mary) Clark of Poquoson, Virginia; daughter, Marla Tharp of Haskins, Ohio; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Inez Roberts, her husband Darrell Clark, and four sisters, Wilma Bales, Doris Moore, Lorene Downhour, and Margaret Fleischman.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Rick Jett officiating.

Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Muncie, Indiana.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Sweetser United Methodist Church, 413 N. Main Street, Sweetser, Indiana 46987.
