GARY M. RAYMOND, age 65, of Marion won his battle with cancer and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 15, 2008.
GARY was born on February 28, 1943, in Wauseon, Ohio, the son of the late William H. Raymond and Florence Hesse. He married Judith Van Doren on May 26, 1978.
He currently worked at the Marion VA Hospital in the insurance and billing department. He was a very active member of Unity Christian Church in Marion, where he served as an Elder and Sunday School Teacher. He was a Scout Master and had a passion for sailing, golf, bowling and camping. Gary was an avid reader, but his true passion was service to his Lord and family, being a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather.
Survivors include Wife, Judith (Lauffer) Raymond of Marion, Indiana; Sons, Rob Van Doren (Karen) of Orrville, Ohio and Jamison M. Raymond of Bloomington, Indiana; Daughters, Barbra Kellum (Devon) of Alexandria, Indiana, Ronda Hawkins (Bruce) of Marengo, Indiana and Rochelle Blunt (Chris) of Swayzee, Indiana; Brother, William "Nick" Raymond of Morrison, Colorado; Sister, Ellen D 'Arcy (Ron) of Littleton, Colorado and five grandchildren, Zachary Valdez, Spencer & Cooper Van Doren, Kylie Gray, and Olivia Blunt.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jon "Jack" Raymond and nephew, Jon Raymond.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2008, at Unity Christian Church, 140 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Marion, Indiana, with Ministers Jerry Curtis & Rick Jett officiating.
Graveside Services & Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19 at the Wauseon Cemetery, Wauseon, Ohio.
Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday, July 17 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
