GENEVA M. DRAKE, age 83, passed away at 4:20 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Rolling Meadows Health and Rehabilitation Center in LaFontaine.
Geneva was born September 20, 1926, in Hutchison, Kansas, the daughter of the late Raleigh Homer and Elva M. (Campbell) Morton. She married John Z. Drake who preceded her in death in 1996.
She was in Restaurant Management for many years.
Geneva was a 50 year member of the Mississinewa Chapter No. 94 Order Of The Eastern Star, was a compassionate care giver, loved gardening, cooking, and camping.
Survivors include, daughter, Judy Swafford (Gene) of Marion; daughter, Janet Dahse (Billy) of West Columbia, Texas; son, Mike Drake (Rose) of Marion; brother-in-law, Max Drake of Berne, Indiana; brother-in-law, Don Drake of Decatur, Indiana; sister-in-law, Shirley Schnepp of Decatur, Indiana; sister-in-law, Betty Knittle of Decatur, Indiana; 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her son John Z. Drake, Jr. and grandson Timothy Mitchell.
An Eastern Star Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana.
Friends may call from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 4 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
