GENEVA L. TURNER, age 81, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2009, at Wesleyan Health Care Center, Marion.
GENEVA was born on March 5, 1927, in Truman, Arkansas, the daughter of the late John and Emma (Orr) Russell. She married Walter James Turner on February 26, 1974. He preceded her in death in 1991.
She worked in production on the utility assembly line at Uniroyal in Mishawaka for 23 years. Upon moving to Marion, she then was a home care provider for the VA for 16 years. She was a member of the 1st. Nazarene Church. She liked to play the guitar and played softball for several women's teams as a young woman. She was a devoted Mother and Grandmother who loved Christ and devoted her life to His purpose.
Survivors include Daughter, Debbie Kukuris of Marion, Indiana; Brothers, Paul Russell (Helen) and Roby D. Russell (Helen) of Elkhart, Indiana; and Grandsons, Michael Kukuris, Jr. & Tyler Kukuris of Marion, Indiana.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Russell and W.G. Russell and two sisters, Vivian Frederick & Vera Balcom.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Reverend Greg Clark officiating.
Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
