GERALD H. DOWNES, age 71, died at 9:33 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2008, at Miller's Merry Manor, Marion, Indiana.
GERALD was born on December 26, 1936, in Milford, Indiana, the son of the late Clyde Downes and Leta Iris (Gibson) Downes.
He was an Army veteran and worked in sales. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Marion.
Survivors include two half-brothers, Brian Downes (Cathy) of Evansville, Indiana and Greg Downes (Suzanne) of Olney, Illinois; Aunt, Alice Stetz of Eagle Grove, Iowa; Sister-In-Law, Arlene Downes of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; three nieces, Tammie Farrar, Sherry Reddiger and Claire Downes and two nephews, Erek Downes and Nathan Byers.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Downes, step-mother, Marceil Downes, mother, Leta Holden, step-father, Paul Holden and brothers, William Downes and Duane Downes.
Memorial Graveside Services will be held at noon (Central Time) Sunday, November 30, 2008, at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 1800 Saint George Road, Evansville, Indiana with Pastor Martin Keller officiating.
There will be no visitation.
