Gerry Hardwick Sr

December 29, 1957 — July 4, 2011

Gerry Hardwick, Sr., age 53, of Marion, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011, at his home, in Marion, Indiana. Our dearly beloved brother fought a good fight, until the Heavenly Angels escorted him to Heaven.

Gerry was born on December 29, 1957, in Birmingham, Alabama, the son of the late David Hardwick and Norma Jean (Tellis) Hardwick. He worked for VanDyne Moving and Storage and was an Army veteran who served as a Communications Specialist.

Gerry enjoyed all sports, but was especially an avid fan of the New York Yankees, the New York Jets and the New York Giants. He most of all loved his children, grandchildren, and siblings, and truly loved to barbeque. This past Father's Day was the best for Gerry, as he had all of his children and two of his grandchildren here with him sharing a huge BBQ, and having the best time of his life.

The family would sincerely like to thank the caring nurses, aides, pastor and social worker at Amedisys Hospice for their loving care of Gerry, especially Heidi, Liz, Erica, Joel and Lillian. Also, special thanks to Sarah Hampsten and Jennifer Urlaub for their continued support. FNP was great to Gerry the last few years, Trina Greenwald and nurse Tabitha Franks.
