LOUISE GUYER, age 92, died on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at Millers Merry Manor, Marion.
Louise was born on August 8, 1918, in Marion, In. She was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Essie M. (Mohler) Guyer.
Louise received her Undergraduate Degree from Marion College, and her Masters Degree from Ball State University. She began her teaching career in Swayzee. She then taught for most of her career at Franklin and Thomas Jefferson Schools in the Marion School District, retiring after 42 years.
She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, the Retired Teachers Association, and a founding member of the Audubon Club. She presented covered bridge programs to children and poetry programs to various civic organizations. She was very artistic. She loved and wrote poetry.
Survivors include a host of loving nieces, nephews, and family members, a special niece, Rebecca Strange, and a special friend, Marilyn Cheslik.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Frank, Ray, and Roy, and sisters, Ersie and Dorothy.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Curtis officiating.
Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Fairmount, Indiana.
Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 19 at the Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
