H. Suzanne Vickers, age 67, died at 7:26 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2008, at home.
Suzanne was born on November 15, 1940, in Bloomington, Indiana, the daughter of the late Thomas R Smith and Ruth Anne Horner. She married Tom Vickers on February 27, 1987.
She worked as a die mounter at Bell Packaging for 15 years, retiring in 2000. She cherished her children & grandchildren. She loved gardening, fishing and bird watching. She also volunteered at Cancer Services.
Survivors include Husband, Tom Vickers of Marion, Indiana; Sons, Richard Willis (Cindy) of Brownsburg, Indiana and Michael Willis (Kim) of Jonesboro, Indiana; Step-Son, Matthew T. Vickers (Tracy) of Amboy, Indiana; Daughters, Christine Sanchez (Ricardo) of Marion, Indiana and Susan Cooley (Chris) of Marion, Indiana; Step-Daughters, Theresa (Chuck) Hogan of Swayzee, Indiana and Dawn Melton (James) of Decatur, Indiana; Brother, Thomas R. Smith (Sally) of Westfield , Indiana; Sister, Shirley E. Wentz (Alvin) of Richmond, Indiana; Father-in-law, George Vickers of Marion, Indiana; Sister-in-law, Georgetta Vickers of Marion, Indiana; Sister-in-law, Marilyn Hirzel of Indianapolis, Indiana; 19 grandchildren: Stephanie Lormans, Samantha Willis, Courtney Conway, Christopher Farmer, Katie Barrus, Shane Conway, Tina Willis, William Jenks, Braiden Thornburgh, Kailan Thornburgh, Maci Willis, Owen Willis, Justin Bean, Holly Melton, Morgan Bean, Jason Bean, Braden Melton, Justin Boone, Delaney Melton and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by grandchildren, Ryan Melton & Ryan Willis.
Memorial Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Reverend Ben Gray officiating.
Burial will be private in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana at a later date. No graveside services will be held.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
