Harold Clifford "Brownie" Brown

Harold Clifford "Brownie" Brown, age 91, died at 7:22 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2010, at Colonial Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center, Marion.

Harold was born on April 12, 1918, in St. Croix County, Wisconsin, the son of the late Julius and Mary (Simonson) Brown. He married Kathleen T. Brown in 1940, she preceded him in death in September 1987. He then married Frances Armstrong in 1989. She preceded him in death in June 2009.

He worked at Anaconda Wire & Cable Company in the personnel department until his retirement in 1980. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Country Club; and a member of the Marion Moose Lodge. He was also former vice president of the Marion Jaycees and a DSA Award winner.

Survivors include, three grandchildren, Joel Brown, Angela Gonzalez and Kara Petty; sister, Marion Weidner; two step-daughters, Bonnie Robinson and Billie Sluder; 8 step grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 8 nieces & nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Stewart T. Brown, a sister, Evelyn Henry, and a step-daughter, Darlene Gibson.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with the Chaplain Don Miller officiating.

Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 27 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
