Harold L. Pulley, age 84, passed away at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011, at Colonial Oaks Health &
Rehabilitation Center, Marion. Harold was born on May 18, 1926, in Marion, Indiana, the son of the late Paul and Clarine (Hornbeck) Pulley. He married Inez Barnes on March 9, 1945, and she preceded him in death on March 1,2006.
He worked in tool & die at the Marion General Motors Plant for 19 years until his retirement in 1975. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, dancing, bowling and golfing.
After retirement Mr. Pulley took up wood carving as well as making jewelry out of coins. Mr. Pulley was extremely talented and a perfectionist enabling him to exceed in everything he did. He traveled throughout the United States to carving shows where he received numerous blue ribbons and first place honors. Carving life size Mallard ducks was his speciality.
Survivors include: brother, Paul Pulley, and sister, Patsy Ryder; special famil,y Phyllis (Rick) Lolkus and Mr. & Mrs. Jesse (Carol) Rush. Special thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at Colonial Oaks Health Care and Rehab Center, who was Harold's extended family as well as the New Hope Hospice.
He was also preceded in death by his brother Marvin Pulley.
Graveside Services & Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2011, at Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
