Harry O.Yeakle, age 89, of Marion, passed away Friday, October 16, 2015 surrounded by his family at home.
Harry was born on March 31, 1926, in Marion, Indiana, the son of the late Otto and Elizabeth Yeakle. He married Betty June Anderson on April 28, 1945 in Connersville, Indiana and she preceded him in death on January 2, 2008.
Harry was a WWII Army Veteran, a member of the Amvets Post 5, American Legion, and the VFW. He worked for Commercial Motor Freight Trucking Co., of Marion for 27 Years. He was an Easter Pageant volunteer for many years and Help the Hopeful. Harry was an Exchange Club Golden Deed Award Recipient. He was saved October 1, 2015.
Harry is survived by six Sons, Wesley (Donna), Daryl (Robin), Jay (Malaya), Tony, Greg (Stephanie), Tim (Danney); Four Daughters, Barbara (Clarence) Williams, Vicki (Rick) Connett, Patricia, and Carol (John) Lawson; Grandchildren, Andy (Tina), Bobby Jo (Paul), Nicole (Erik), Matthew (Isabel), Maggie, Stacy, Steven (Erica), Brian (April), Annette (Jimmy), Joseph, Dawn, Chad (Stephanie), Adam (Ashley), Micah (Chelsey), Tommy (Lacy), Megan (Carlos), Brant (Khrista), Amber, Daryl Jr (Sarah), Joshua, Seth (Dani), Tom (Lori), John Jr. (Lisa), Brandi, Amanda, Wade, Brooks (Inez), Sheena, Braylen, Tara, Chelsie (Brent), Elizabeth, Alexis, Taylor (Jordan), Luke, Hank, Aaron (Chasity), Zachary, Patrick, and Rhyan; 102 Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by a very special friend and companion, Nora Tanser; and three very special girls, Patty, Nina, and Carol.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph, Lester, Lee, and Homer Yeakle, and two sisters Theone, and Edra.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday October 21, 2015, at Grace Community Church, 1810 East Bradford Pike, Marion, Indiana, with Pastor Tom Mansbarger and Mike Planck officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service in the Church. Burial will take place in Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana.
Friends may call from Noon to 2:00 pm and 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October, 20, 2015 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
