Hazel Delores Riley

HAZEL DELORES RILEY, age 87, died at 10:15 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, at Wesleyan Health Care Center, Marion.

HAZEL was born on March 14, 1921, in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of the late Fred and Junia (Dwiggins) Williams. She married the late Thomas A. Cochrane on May 1, 1942; and Donald M. Riley on August 10, 1957. Donald preceded her in death on May 11, 1994.

Hazel retired from RCA after 32 years as secretary in the engineering department. She also worked at the Big-D Car Wash, owned by her husband Donald Riley. She volunteered at the information desk at Marion General Hospital and at St. Martin Kay's Kitchen. She was a member of the American Legion Post 10; the Amvets Post 5; Order of Eastern Star Chapter 345 and First Christian Church.

Hazel enjoyed boating, team bowling and travel. She was an avid reader, framed her cross-stitching and fondly interacted with her family and many friends.

Survivors include sons, Richard Cochrane of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Robert Cochrane of Nashville, Indiana and Russell Cochrane of Westerville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Rick Cochrane of Crewe, Virginia; Keli Francis of Nashville, Indiana; Robert & Anthony; and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Francis Cook and Betty Ballinger and four brothers, Edward, Paul, James & Charles Williams.

Services will be held at Noon Thursday, March 12, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion with Reverend Rodger Moore officiating.

Burial will be in Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday, March 12 at the funeral home.
