Helen N. Skinner, age 90, of Marion passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Suite Living in Marion.
She was born on March 17, 1929 in Grant County, Indiana the daughter of the late William Phin and Elsie Marie (Herring) Howard. Helen graduated from Marion High School. She married Clifford James Skinner on June 25, 1949 and he preceded her in death on March 9, 2004.
Helen was a homemaker, and later employed at Flinn Memorial Home in Marion as a bookkeeper for 18 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Marion where she had been a former active member. She was also a past member of The Best Year Singers and Sweet Adelines; the Marion General Hospital Auxiliary, and the Hostess House.
She is survived by her children, son, Michael James Skinner (JoAnne) of Marion, and daughter, Susan Wilhelm (Michael) of Marion; 3 grandchildren, Joe Skinner of South Bend, Tony (Cathlyn) Eder of Seattle, Washington and Brad (Kristin) Skinner of Converse; 4 great-grandchildren, Rossi, Reese and Rikki Skinner of Converse, and Xavier Eder of Seattle, Washington; brothers-in-law, Richard and Ronnie Skinner of Converse; niece, Linda Howard of Wichita, Kansas; nephew, Rob Howard of Marion; and several dear cousins.
Helen was also preceded in death by brothers, William G. Howard and Robert E. Howard.
Graveside Services and Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana with Reverend Roslyn Harrison officiating.
Arrangements entrusted to Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
The family would like to thank the staff of Suite Living Assisted Living and Family Care Hospice for the compassionate and outstanding care Helen received.
