HERBERT H. CARTER, age 72, of Marion, died Friday, February 1, 2008, at Miller's Merry Manor, Marion.
HERBERT was born on April 27, 1935, in Burkesville, Kentucky, the son of the late Virgil and Addie Carter. He married Margie Gaskins on February 26, 1955. She survives.
He was a die setter at General Motors for 37 years. He was a member of U.A.W. He loved doing yardwork, gardening and spending time with his family.
Survivors include Wife, Margie Carter of Marion, Indiana; Sons, Richard Carter (Paula) and Michael Carter both of Marion, Indiana; Daughter, Debra Fox (Randy) of Marion, Indiana; Brothers, Warren Carter (Vicie) of Burkesville, Kentucky and Marvin Carter of Marion, Indiana; Sister, Olene Ball, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, LInda Carter, brothers, Jimmy & Malcom Carter and sisters, Hazel Medinas, Ruth Davidson, Margie Humphress, Pauline Coffman & Rena Thurman.
Graveside Services and Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 4, 2008, at Grant Memorial Park with Chaplain Bill Sparks officiating.
There will be no visitation.
