Howard H. Kitts, age 93, of Marion, passed away at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011, in Marion General Hospital, Marion, Indiana.
Howard was born on March 31, 1918, in Kokomo, Indiana, the son of the late Sherman Hobart and Marguerite (Churchill) Kitts. He married Madelynn Wilkinson May 29, 1938 and she preceded him in death in 1976.
Howard was a 1936 graduate of Kokomo High School. He was a die maker at General Motors Corporation and a farmer, retiring in 1980.
Howard most enjoyed going to Dewart Lake, fishing, wintering in Florida, working on the farm and being outdoors. He continued to ride his 4-wheeler until his passing.
Survivors include: four sons, Ronald H. Kitts (Vicky) of Marion, Indiana, George Kitts (Linda) of Marion, Indiana, Kendall Kitts (Cheryl) of Van Buren, Indiana, and David Kitts of South Lake, Texas; two daughters, Marilynn Barr (Joe) of Tijeras, New Mexico, and Pamelynn Taylor (Larry) of Zeeland, Michigan; brother, Tom Kitts (Janet) of Springboro, Ohio; sister, Betty Lawson (Dave) of Lakeland, Florida; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Lt. Kenneth K. Kitts, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 9, 2011, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with the Reverend Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating.
Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.
