HOWARD B. ROBERTSON, age 85, died at 7:10 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008, at VA Northern Indiana Health Care, Marion.
HOWARD was born on November 30, 1922, in Estell County, Kentucky, the son of the late Milford Robertson and Nanny Dozier. On April 3, 1948, he married Ruby Farthing. She survives.
He was an electrician (W.E.M.R.) at General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1974.
He served in the Army during WWII, in Europe and the Philippines.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 10; U.A.W.; and the GM Sympathy Club. He loved fishing and Square dancing.
Survivors include Wife, Ruby Robertson of Marion; Son, Michael Robertson (Judy) of Marion; Daughter, Joyce Black (George) of Walnut Creek, California; Brother, Dewey Robertson (Virginia) of Marion; Sisters: Connie Robertson, Parriet Mitchell & Nancy Robertson, all of Irving, Kentucky, Thelma Martin (Bill) of Sarasota, Florida and Betty Chaney (Wayne) of Chula Vista, California, 5 Granddchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by 3 Sisters and 5 Brothers.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, with Reverend Rodger Moore officiating.
Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana.
Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 25 at the Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
